Description

This leak gauge is a mechanical leak detection gauge for the annular (interstitial) space of a double-wall above-ground storage tank, built for the tall tanks that the shorter leak gauges cannot reach. It mounts in a 2 inch NPT opening into the interstice and carries a float on a rod assembly. Under normal conditions nothing shows; if product from the primary tank - or water from outside - enters the interstitial space, the float rises and drives a red indicator up into the viewing window, signalling a leak in the double-wall containment system. Only the 2 inch opening version reaches past 76 inches, which is why tall tanks use this gauge. Each gauge is built to the depth of the tank it serves. Newberry supplies these as Krueger Sentry Type K leak detection gauges. Size is based on tank height or diameter, not tank capacity.
