Return, Exchange, and Claims Policy

Tank Supply Direct – Returns, Exchanges & Freight Damage Policy 

1. Acceptance of Terms

By placing an order with Tank Supply Direct, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Return & Exchange Policy and Freight Damage Policy. These terms apply to all purchases and govern all returns, exchanges, and damage claims.


2. Return Eligibility

  • Return requests must be submitted within 14 days of delivery
  • Items must be:
    • Unused
    • Uninstalled
    • In original packaging
    • In resalable condition (as determined by Tank Supply Direct)

All returns require prior authorization. Unauthorized returns will not be accepted.


3. Return Fees & Shipping

  • All approved returns are subject to a 30% restocking fee
  • Customer is responsible for return shipping costs
  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable

4. Non-Returnable Items

The following items are not eligible for return:

  • Custom or special-order products
  • Made-to-order items
  • Any product that has been installed, used, or altered
  • Items restricted by manufacturer return policies

5. Freight Delivery & Inspection 

All tanks and large products ship via third-party freight carriers.

It is the customer’s responsibility to inspect all shipments at the time of delivery.

At delivery, you must:

  • Inspect the product for any visible damage
  • Note any damage clearly on the Bill of Lading (BOL) before signing
  • Take photos of the product and packaging

Failure to note damage at the time of delivery may result in denial of a damage claim by the carrier.


6. Reporting Freight Damage

  • All freight damage must be reported within 48 hours of delivery
  • Reports must include:
    • Photos of damage
    • Photos of packaging
    • Copy of signed delivery receipt (BOL)

7. Freight Damage Claims Process

All damage that occurs during shipping is the responsibility of the freight carrier, not Tank Supply Direct.

We will assist in filing and managing the claim; however:

  • The carrier conducts the investigation
  • The carrier determines claim approval or denial
  • The carrier controls all timelines and payout

Typical timelines:

  • Up to 30 days for initial claim review
  • Up to 120 days for final resolution or payment

👉 These timelines are set by the carrier and are outside of Tank Supply Direct’s control.


8. Resolution of Damage Claims

If a claim is approved, the carrier may:

  • Issue repair compensation
  • Provide partial reimbursement
  • Issue full claim payment

Tank Supply Direct does not issue refunds or replacements for freight-damaged items unless and until the carrier approves the claim.


9. Communication & Claim Updates

Tank Supply Direct will provide updates as they are received from the carrier.

Due to the nature of freight claims:

  • Updates may not be frequent
  • No new information is available until the carrier provides it

To ensure accuracy and proper documentation, all claim communication will be handled via email.


10. Policy Enforcement

This policy is strictly enforced to ensure consistency and fairness across all orders. By completing your purchase, you agree to these terms in full.
