Description

This 6 in emergency pressure relief vent is required safety equipment on a UL-142 above-ground storage tank. It is sized and set to relieve the rapid pressure rise caused by fire exposure so the tank does not over-pressurize and rupture, and it reseals afterwards. The vent threads directly into the tank's emergency vent bung on a male NPT body and is set to open at 8 oz per square inch. An emergency vent is used in addition to - never instead of - the tank's normal atmospheric or pressure-vacuum vent.
