Description

The CorGal 2702-WT-CHR is a 30,000 gallon (nominal) corrugated galvanized steel water storage tank kit made by Water Storage Tanks, Inc. of Texas, the manufacturer of CorGal® tanks. It is 27′ in diameter with a 7′ 3″ eave height and a 14′ 6″ peak height under a 30° corrugated high-rib galvanized steel roof.

The tank ships as a kit and is bolted together on site. Water is held by a reinforced PVC flexible membrane liner hung inside the steel shell over a geotextile preliner, so the water does not touch the steel. This standard build uses a 22 oz non-potable liner for rainwater harvesting, fire protection, irrigation, livestock and other non-potable storage. An NSF-61 certified potable liner is available on request.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it come assembled?
No. CorGal tanks ship as a kit and are bolted together at your site. Water Storage Tanks, Inc. can provide a labor proposal from one of its trained tank contractors; you work and pay the contractor directly. A factory-certified instructor can also supervise a build for a daily fee.

Can I build it myself?
You can, but Water Storage Tanks, Inc. does not encourage it. A self-performed build receives only a one-year warranty against material defects and no workmanship coverage, and you must sign WST's acknowledgement form before the order is approved. WST supplies an installation manual but does not provide phone support during the build.

What foundation does it need?
The foundation is provided by others. Water Storage Tanks, Inc. recommends a concrete foundation, and the tank anchors to it with anchor clips. WST notes that some basic two-ring tanks are installed on compacted sand or gravel, but that is the customer's responsibility and the warranty does not cover a liner failure caused by settling or wash-out.

Is it rated for drinking water?
This standard build uses a 22 oz non-potable liner. An NSF-61 certified potable liner is available; contact us for a quote.

Is it engineered for my location?
Standard pricing is based on Seismic Category A, 110 mph (IBC) wind speed and a 20 psf roof live load, without site-specific engineering. If your jurisdiction requires a stamped design, WST offers site-specific engineering by a licensed professional engineer for an added fee.

How does it ship and who unloads it?
Materials ship from Austin, Texas on pallets, FOB origin, typically by tractor-trailer up to 65 ft long. You are responsible for unloading, inspecting the delivery and noting any damage on the bill of lading before signing. Hidden damage must be reported within 5 calendar days.

Are there weather limits for installation?
Yes. WST will not install liners when the average daily temperature is below 50°F.

How long does it take?
The manufacture lead time is about 6 weeks. WST's quote lists typical availability of 6 to 8 weeks from receipt of the first payment.

Warranty Information
Water Storage Tanks, Inc. warrants CorGal structural materials it manufactures to be free from defects in material and workmanship for thirty (30) years from the date the materials ship from the factory. The 22 oz non-potable reinforced PVC liner carries a 10-year pro-rated liner warranty. Full warranty coverage applies only when the tank is built by a factory-certified installation team, or when every step of the build is supervised by a factory-certified instructor. Self-performed builds receive only a one-year warranty against material defects, with no workmanship coverage, and require a signed acknowledgement before the sale is approved. The warranty does not cover a liner failure caused by foundation settling or wash-out, and Water Storage Tanks, Inc. is not responsible for indirect costs such as labor, water, or damage to surrounding structures or landscaping.
